CHANGES TO PHLEBOTOMY CLINICS

Information for patients:

  • Any patient attending the clinic for fasting bloods should attend between 8am-9am Monday - Friday
  • Fasting patients need to collect a lamintated ticket number from reception and take a seat
  • A phlebotomist will be allocated to take bloods for these patients thereby reducing the waiting time for patients
  • After 9am the laminated tickets will not be available and any patient requiring fasting bloods after this time will need to wait their turn with patients who require non urgent bloods
  • Patients who require urgent bloods will continue to take a white ticket as from 8am and will be seen by another phlebotomist
  • A memo will be displayed in the waiting area advising patients of the new process for fasting bloods only
  • Any patient who takes a lamintated ticket and does not require fasting bloods will be asked to take a white ticket and return to the waiting area.
